Eden Energy Medicine Foundation’s Program

                                                                  OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM

The Florida Regional Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) Foundations Program is a one-year program designed for people wanting to learn the fundamental principles and methods of EEM.  Year 1 will be the foundation for those participants who desire one or more of the following:

1)  Enroll in Year 2 and to become an EEM Certified Practitioner
2)  Integrate EEM methods into their professional practice
3)  Enhance their efforts as care-givers with family and friends
4)  Expand their self-care skills to build a resilient energy system

This program is based on a curriculum developed by Donna Eden and her faculty members. The goal of the program is to help any student of Eden Energy Medicine obtain a firm foundation in the body of work Donna has created over the past 30-years.  And to develop the skills necessary to integrate these techniques regularly in life, either with oneself, family and friends, or in a professional practice.

The Florida Regional Eden Energy Medicine Foundations Program will be taught by Melanie Smith, Faculty Member for the EEMCP Two-Year Certification Program and Energy Medicine Advanced Practitioner.  The main purpose of Year 1 is educational and will include lecture, hands-on practice, as well as, question and answer sessions.  The program is designed to provide you with skills for working with the body’s energies in order to promote physical and emotional well-being.

After successful completion of the Florida EEM Foundations Program, students will have the opportunity to enroll in the second year of the Two-Year Eden Energy Medicine Certification Program (EEMCP), held in Phoenix, Arizona.  Participants who complete the Year 1 EEM Foundations Program will receive a document verifying their completion of 100+ hours of training in Eden Energy Medicine. However, to become a Certified Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner students must complete Year Two of the EEMCP Program. A graduate of the two-year program may use the title, “EEM Certified Practitioner” and be listed on the Innersource website.

Meals:
Students will be responsible for purchasing their own meals.  Lunch and dinners will be 1.5 hours long allowing ample time for students to eat at the hotel restaurant or a variety of other restaurants within walking distance. There is also a Publix grocery store directly across from the hotel.

Structure:
The first year EEM Foundations Program consists of four quarterly classes beginning at 5pm Thursday to 5pm on Sunday.  Each class totaling 26.5 hours with home work and post class supervision.  All classes include a combination of teaching and supervised small group practice time.

Recommended Materials:
Student’s are required to purchase and either read or view the following resources during the year.  Energy Medicine book (2008,) Energies of Love DVD, and Energy Medicine Ethics Handbook.  It is also recommended to purchase and view the 5-Day Energy Medicine DVD (Santa Fe) which offers an optional online self-test at www.innersource.net

Testing:
Students are required to submit an open book written test and complete a demonstration after each class. Students have two options to do their demos: 1) Present their demo in a pre-scheduled live session with Dr. Melanie.  2) Use Skype via computer in a pre-scheduled session with Dr. Melanie.

CEU’s:
If you register for the Year 2 EEMCP in Phoenix, CEU’s will be provided during your second year of training. CEU’s for completion of Year 2 are available from the following organizations:
    1) American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA)
    2) National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)
    3) Southern Oregon University (SOU)  

You will receive 259 hours of Nursing Continuing Education for your two-year training.  The 259 hours includes Classes 1-4 from your Regional EEM Foundations Program, however, they are only awarded once you complete the second year in Phoenix.  If you have any questions as to whether or not your professional continuing education requirements can be met through completion of this program, contact your professional licensing organization or state professions’ bureau for a final decision.

Tuition:
The tuition for each class is $995 and for the entire First Year Foundations Program it is $3,980.  Quarterly payments may be paid 30-days prior to each class as follows:  Class one is $1,295. $300 of the $1,295 is a non- refundable deposit, but is later applied to your Class 4 tuition.  Class 2 and Class 3 are $995 and Class 4 is $695. An early $300 deposit will guarantee you a space in our 2012 class. The tuition covers all of your class handouts, conference space, teaching staff, small group supervision, written test with review, and one-hour live or Skype demonstration of skills following each class.  Please download and fill out the registration form for full tuition details including deposits, deadlines and refund policies.

Financial Aid:
If you need financial assistance for the Energy Medicine Foundations Program, we suggest you seek sponsors for a contribution to your “Educational Fund” to support your training. You will be learning enough Energy Medicine to give sessions after the first class. Two sponsors who are willing to receive a weekly (or 4 sponsors every other week) Eden Energy Medicine session at $38/session will come close to covering your tuition. Both you and your sponsors will benefit greatly. The sponsor will be quite fortunate to have a weekly Energy Medicine session at a very reasonable cost and you will get valuable practice for your studies.  Remember you are asking for a contribution for your “Educational Fund”.

Length:
Upon completion of the EEM Foundations Program in Florida, students have the option to pursue certification by attending Classes 5-8 in Phoenix, AZ.  Year Two is optional, but will be required in order to become an Eden Energy Medicine Certified Practitioner. A mandatory review class of Year 1 is required to enter the Year 2 program in Phoenix. This class is held in Phoenix in May on the Thursday prior to Class #5 from 8am to 3pm. Faculty:
Melanie Smith will be teaching and facilitating the Florida Eden Energy Medicine Foundations Program. Melanie is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture Physician, Licensed Massage Therapist, Eden Energy Medicine Advanced Practitioner, an original Faculty member of Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine Certification Program in Phoenix and a Faculty Member of the new Eden Energy Medicine European Foundations Program. Her practice Well Within Natural Medicine, Inc., is located in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she integrates a variety of energetic, emotional and therapeutic bodywork techniques.  She believes in empowering the patient through education and participation in their own healing process to awaken the healer within.  Dr. Melanie is the author of Energy Medicine for Healthy Living™ color laminated charts and DVD’s and the Co-Author of the eBook “Energy Medicine Your Personal Health and Wellness System for Today“.  She travels the country speaking and teaching on The Power of Energy Medicine.

Health Requirements:
The main purpose of this class is educational. The class is designed to provide you with skills for working with the body’s energies to promote physical and emotional wellbeing. This can be an intense experience, and doing energy work in a large group can be taxing, so if you are not in good health, we ask you to take this into account before registering.  The class itself is an interactive, large-group training event, and we ask you to set your expectations accordingly.  During small group time you will be practicing the Energy Medicine techniques you have just learned on another student and then receive an Energy Medicine exchange as well. Lodging:
We have arranged a block of rooms at the Dolphin Beach Resort at very good rates.  It is important to schedule your room in advance as this hotel is on the beach and fills up quickly.  There are only a certain number of rooms that will be held for this event so we encourage you to call and make your reservation soon for all four classes. You will pay the hotel directly for lodging.

Please note room fees do not include 12% tax. The Dolphin Beach Resort can answer any specific questions you may have. There is FREE Parking and NO Resort Fees! All rooms have two double or queen beds, mini refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. Some poolside and all Gulf-front (water view) rooms have private balconies or patios. Room reservations must be made at least 30-days prior to each arrival date. While the classes will be held at the Dolphin Beach Resort, students are free to stay at any nearby hotels.

Room Sharing:  If you have someone to room with, please write that person’s name in the space provided on the registration form.  If you do not have a roommate and would like one, we will put your name in the divine lottery and pair you up with another student who is looking for a roommate.
